Aaravon, Duke of Beriso, is a soldier-noble shaped by years of war, loss, and command. He arrives at the edge of the elven world with the bearing of a man accustomed to being obeyed, but beneath his charisma is a hunger he does not fully trust. The Codex represents victory, redemption, and an end to the war that has consumed his house.
He is not a simple villain, nor an easy hero. Aaravon wants to save his people, but he also wants to be the man history remembers for saving them. That private need makes him dangerous. In a story where every wish has a cost, Aaravon is the kind of man the Codex was made to tempt.
